Story here.
If you had been a member of the jury, would you have voted to find George Zimmerman
guilty of murder, guilty of manslaughter, not guilty, or would you have been unsure?
Guilty of murder...........15% (Wht 12% / Blk 36% / Hsp 13% / D-25% / I-12% / R-7%)
Guilty of manslaughter .23% (Wht 22% / Blk 39% / Hsp 18% / D-39% / I-17% / R-7%)
Found not guilty.......... 41% (Wht 46% / Blk 14% / Hsp 35% / D-20% / I-43% / R-68%)
Not sure .....................21% (Wht 20% / Blk 11% / Hsp 34% / D-17% / I-28% / R-14%)
The numbers are similar to some other polls floating out there, like the much beloved Rasmussen.
I am not surprised. Very divided perspective. Not at all like the monolith on this site.
Imo, bringing the federal charges against Zimmerman would be extremely divisive and doing an end run on double jeopardy. Which is probably why President Obama, during his remarks, stressed that law enforcement and the criminal code "is traditionally done at the state and local levels, not at the federal level."
