Receives this e-mail today from Senator Kay Hagan (D. NC) regarding the North Carolina GOP controlled legislature's efforts to suppress voters:
Whether you do it 2 weeks early or wait until the last minute, whether you live in Warrenton or Charlotte, whether you're 18 or 85 -- everyone should be able to vote.
Roadblocks to voting are against North Carolina's values. But the state legislature just passed a law that limits the ability to vote. It erases a week of early voting. It stops pre-registration of high schoolers. It ends same-day voting registration and restricts people’s ability to vote by provisional ballot.
The right to vote is one of the most basic, bedrock principles of our democracy. And we need to protect it. Let the North Carolina legislature know that you are against their out-of-touch limits on access to voting. Add your name today:

Our democracy thrives when the people have their say. We should be making it easier for families in rural communities to get to the polls. We should be encouraging our young people to take part in elections that impact their future.
Any changes in our voting process should aim to protect access for everyone, and every eligible voter should have the ability to cast their ballot and have it count. North Carolinians value our open, transparent, and accessible voting system.
The legislature's new law goes in the exact opposite direction.
I'll continue working to make sure every eligible voter in North Carolina can get to the polls. And if you're with me, let the legislature know. Add your voice to mine in support of voter access today:

Thank you for your support.
Kay
