Raw Story
The President was on the Jay Leno show last night and was provided an opportunity to assure Americans that they are not being 'spied upon'.
What we do have are some mechanisms where we can track a phone number or an email address that we know is connected to some sort of terrorist threat.”
Aware that some Americans are a bit concerned about what's been going on that
looks like a massive internal spying program, outed by whistleblower Ed Snowden:
Obama said the programs were critical to counterterrorism work. But he said more needed to be done to assure Americans they were not being spied on themselves.
He also indicated the G20 meeting in Russia is on and he's a bit 'disappointed" with ol Pooty-Poot for granting temporary asylum to Snowden.
He went on to say one's chances of dying in a terrorist attack were less than dying in a car accident and despite the travel warnings recently issued, people should not cancel their travel plans.
Then he and Leno palled around, told jokes and lionized Hillary Clinton.
