Gas Bag promotes gas (FRACKING) and pledges to repeal Obamacare. Republican Pat Toomey's platform - poison the water, and then when it sickens and starts to kill you, promise to take your healthcare away. 2016 can't come soon enough to remove this canker on the Commonwealth.

A commenter on the article pokes significant holes in the gasbag posing as a U.S. Senator.
Thank you Stephen Cleghorn for showing up at the Town Hall.
Just spoke with Senator Toomey at a town hall meeting in DuBois yesterday. I know his position on shale gas (not surprised to see it here), but I was astounded to discover that he is a climate change denier, He does not think it is happening, and says that if it does happen "we'll find a way to take the carbon out of the atmosphere."
He is woefully misinformed about the lifecycle greenhouse gas footprint of the shale gas extraction process. What a reckless position for a United States Senator to have. I told his aide Matt Blackburn that it was "embarrassing" to have Mr. Toomey - a climate change denier - as my Senator, and young Mr. Blackburn (only 36) went scuttling away for fear of having me engage him on this topic.
We are in deep trouble, dear friends, if we are raising a whole new generation of climate change deniers (Mr Blackburn is younger than my son). On the 50th anniversary of the March in Washington it reminded me of growing up down South where even very good white people I knew (some family included) took it for granted that Jim Crow laws were just part of the social order, just the way things work and are ordered. Eventually most of them woke up to the truth.
These fossil fuel devotees are no less blind in these days. It may be as soon as Mr. Blackburn's two young children grow up, but probably not much later than his grandchildren grow up, that they will be asking Dad or Grandpa why he went along with the destruction of the climate that sustains all life.
I am convinced future generations will rightly see us a pariah generation if we do not take action to shut down fossil fuel use and move rapidly to a renewable, carbon-free energy portfolio.
On the bright side, I would also like to use this diary to say a big
THANK YOU to my sister, Susan Lyons, who was able to get a
fracking moratorium resolution formally adopted by the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
