How did I find this out?
By going to the pharmacy and trying to refill my prescriptions.
It was then I learned I would have to spend 10% of my paltry $30.00 a month food budget on medication that ostensibly keep me stable and coincidentally make me eat more. But I guess not eating for three days will be a good lesson for me, right?
This is of course on top of the $19.02 I pay out of pocket for testosterone. Even though my state has determined denying care based on Transgender status is illegal the insurance company will deny coverage until forced to.
Never mind things for the very wealthy get special consideration and do not face cuts. Like air traffic controllers.

I really wish we had a functional social safety net and access to adequate mental health services. Lacking those, I'm forced to watch as a family member's quirks progress to major issues which progress to major health problems which have now progressed to likely irreversible system failure.
For lack of a nail, the war was lost.
It is apparent the sequester struck her family before it did mine.
To take from the poor while catering to the rich is the recipe for social unrest. Taking essential medications out of the hands of those that need them most is just cruel to them and more expensive to society in the long run.
But no one ever accused this Congress of not being short sighted.
