The world is right in some places. Boston of late, pianos will be installed at in the City of Boston. Their current placement is undisclosed as of yet. But will revealed shortly as a host of pianists operate seventy five pianos thought the city. But the best part is the fact that anyone can avail themselves with music on the piano as they will also be for public use.
Who plays them and how long they remain on the streets is up to each community. Many pianos are personalized and decorated by artists or the local community. By creating a place of exchange ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ invites the public to engage with, activate, and take ownership of their urban environment.

This fall, 75 pianos will be installed in public locations across Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville available for anyone to play.
The “Street Pianos Boston: Play Me I’m Yours” public piano installation by British artist Luke Jerram will commemorate the 75th season of the Celebrity Series of Boston, which has brought orchestras, chamber ensembles, vocal, piano and jazz musicians, dance companies, and other performers to Boston concert halls since it was founded in 1938 by pianist and impresario Aaron Richmond.
The pianos will be hosted from Friday, Sept. 27 through Monday, Oct. 14, by dozens of local partners, including the City of Boston, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Arts Academy, Harvard Office of the Arts and the Prudential Center
I'm hoping there will be lessons available as well on these pianos.
