Started in Feb. Many bits still pertinent. Enjoy. One or two may be in already published diaries. Twenty reports have been written.
Homeland Security has been disbanded. This umbrella organization has eaten up a huge new slice of taxpayer dollars since it was begun and increased the size of government horribly for no reason. We know this is true because the Senate of the US used an extreme rule designed to allow a minority the power to stop a great wrong from being voted on. The filibuster rule was used to stop the vote on background checks for gun purchasers at gun shows selling more than seventy five weapons. We are so safe that there is no need to worry about felons, drug pushers, terrorists, domestically violent, and mentally ill persons from buying weapons at these venues without checks. With America being so safe that this should be blocked, the huge sinkhole for cash that is Homeland Security has no reason to be adding to our deficit.
Following the elimination of Homeland Security FEMA has been returned to cabinet level to allow quicker response following natural disasters. We think the disasters are in congress currently.
Judges not dismissing charges relating to First Amendment actions after a whole year plus should be censured and then voted out of office. Lawyers defending clients on misdemeanor tresspassing charges related to a First Amendment action without resolution after a year should be fired. Persons sitting down to stand up for the First Amendment should be honored. Officials swearing oaths to uphold enshrined laws in the Bill of Rights should suffer some oaths. The media that is not focusing on threats to our democracy, rights, and our very sovereignty should be ignored and ridiculed. That is where we come in. We are XR News and we can envision the country we were taught about in school. The one we have coming at us currently is not it.
The filibuster and minority rule is not being focused on by the media reporting on the failure of gun regulations to pass the Senate. The abuse of the rules of congress has gone on too long. NPR stated it [the bill] failed. It did not. It was filibustered. Filibuster filibuster filibuster. The woman who shouted "shame on you" is more deserving of respect than some of those people we call senators. She was removed. A bunch of them really need to be. The media is a complicit enabler. Filibuster filibuster filibuster. There, was that too hard? Hundreds of times they have abused it and yet the media won't say it. The status quo means billions for a lot tinier minority than the forty plus percent of the Senate who are bullying the rest to kill all bills that could fix anything. This now also includes attempts to make it less easy for neer-do-wells to kill multiple innocents. While victims and families watched senators refused to allow a vote by abusing verbally once again, the filibuster rule. At XR we will say filibuster and maybe a few less diplomatic things too.
In the beginning, the declaration is written and inalienable rights are set as patriots act. Landowners decide for all and the rich flee north of the colonies. Those who step up and aren't killed are given land. Now the filthy rich are all home and just the money has left. Greed still reigns and it is good. Do not question the inevitable but have some tea.
Fear is back in the news. Banksters are pleased we're not looking at them. The solution is more guns and bigger clips. That will make me feel safer. Regulating banksters won't. Fair elections not controlled by big money either.
Breaking news, Grover Norquist has been flushed down a toilet. The EPA vacillates on whether to list him as toxic waste or not.
One company owns fifty percent of the media in this country after the last monopolistic consolidation. They have the freedom to press or squelch the message as they see fit. This is fair in a country that enables monopolistic capitolism over citizens.
One Supreme court justice stated yesterday that they don't write law. They have serious memory problems. The fact that the case concerns real people may have been a facter.
Local global warming denyer speaks before congress citing microclimates as proof. Shortly after giving his testimony he falls off the edge of the earth. No word yet from reporters attempting to verify the story.
A House member who makes a racist comment is said to have violated the dignity of his position by the speaker of the House. This is interesting considering just how low the bar has been set.
Biased news has been with humanity longer than empire. You try running twenty six miles and then reporting dispassionately. Corpulent religious leaders decry the liberal bias in the New Testament of the Bible. Revisions to the current versions are guaranteed to be accurate as only divine intervention can deliver. Mathew 25 has been eliminated for one. I checked with God to verify [a local call for me] and confirmed the veracity of all of the changes implemented. Meditation on the matter is not necessary.
Increasing the levels of allowable pollution is touted as the most effective and easiest method to clean up our envirnment. Statistics proving a cleaner world don't lie.
In local news, Over a year has passed and charges against four tresspassers in Marine Heritage Park have not been dismissed. Refusing to give up First amendment Rights to peaceably assemble has garnered protesters a marathon of appearances and some cost. With our crime level in Whatcom county being at near zero it's understandable that this heinous transgression of the law is being pursued. "Those people should have been thrown in the bay" says a fan of free speech for people who agree with him. Allowing people to demand that we focus on fixes for debilitating problems won't solve anything. Troopers in full riot gear will. I don't know why the speedy trial thing has been so conspicuously absent when complete dismissal would take less time than it took those officers to suit up. It' d take more time to say 'speech ain't always free' but not by much. Let me be clear, these are scary people. I'm not sure however, which ones I mean.
Wall street demands sovereignty calling themselves a vatican of profit that is way above the law. Remourseful banksters call for more regulations as otherwise they could never stop stealing.
Massive corporations chime in "Hey aren't we above the law too?" Prematurely dead employees do not comment.
Virginia Warren speaks the truth in congress. Many members are appalled.
Publicly Funded Election laws are gaining traction in many states. Supreme court [SCOTUS] threatens to preemptively squash this movement as damaging to their imperial ruling that money has rights. Money did not comment. Opponents in congress suggest renaming the court ICOTUS replacing supreme with imperial. The court agrees, asking for crowns. Diana Ross does not comment.
Dennis Kucinich is hired by Fox. Now that's funny.
Congress sets aside three days of their session to focus on the work they were sent to Washington to
do. Pundits say that distraction from distraction is unacceptable and won't be tolerated.
With literally billions of dollars in play the Department of Justice claims that banksters known to be guilty of numerous and wide ranging crimes can't be prosecuted because they are too big to jail. Extortion of the U.S. and many other countries will be overlooked. Obama will not be asked to bow down to them because Eric Holder already has. I would consider eating this report for a one tenth of one percent of that take as a tithe. Boy would I! With all that dirty money I could be one heck of a dirty white boy. On second thought, I want my dirt clean and full of organisms.
Jesus taught to be more like the child with wonder, magic, open eyes and minds. Rich christians agree as now their camels can fit easily through the eye of a needle. God doesn't comment.
Paul Ryans budget is broadcast on the cartoon channel, and the horror network. Viewers are mixed.
Grover Norquist is pleased but needs a bath. You would too if you'd been down a toilet.
The characterization of money as the life blood of a society, feeding all parts of the body as needed has been retired. The new characterization is shit. When stacked in huge piles, it smells bad. Bigger piles smell worse. Spread out accross the field, everything grows and may reach maturity. Abundance spreads out with past growth feeding future in cycles of elegant efficency enabled further by a little fertilizer and local cooperation. Scarab beetles protest demanding more piles and giving participants cake, and tea. Beetles threaten to roll their balls to the Caymans if their demands are not met. Ayn Rand welcomes them as she cashes her government check.
Breaking news. White smoke has come out of the Vatican at precisely 4:20 PM. Questions have been raised as to what is being announced.
No weather news today. Nature asks for some time off. Let's hope the break doesn't last 27 million years this time. I may want to put in a garden before then, and not just gingkos.
The effect of studying butterfly brains could have far reaching consequences.
Forces for and against the name change to imperial from supreme have compromised. Our top deciders of law will now be called the Superial Court.
Ted Nugent is invited to Washington and I don't mean the state. Sitting with members of congress at the State of the Union speech, Nugent represents the more level headed gun fans for the unlimited, unregulated ownership of weapons favored by the NRA. It's nice to see in the wake of the Conneticut grade school shooting that some representatives are willing to stand their ground.
An expose of obstruction and procrastination in congress has been postponed indefinitely.
The Neo Tea Party, after rebranding as a true grassroots organization has joined the occupy movement. Members desiring to carry guns in public site another type of movement as more appropriate.
Breaking news- superial court justices are fitted for crowns as congress refuses to investigate ethics violations. To break the news further, corporatists pontificate gleefully. It's only fair....and balanced. Response will be provided by a homeless guy with substance abuse problems. A former President may weigh in on the subject [substance abuse]. Sound bites will gum the issues while advertisements spark spirited discussions and congress takes another break. Signing off now, it's good to know all is as it should be. Good night [or is it morning?] Stay tuned for cartoons and question nothing.
