Something I've never seen before. I've heard of these things, but never in my borned days have I laid eyes on one.
It's the kind of thing that's so out of normal experience that you can't quite accept that it's real. You double-check the name, the address. You read it over and over again, trying to make sure it is what it claims to be.
Everything appears to check out, yet still somehow it doesn't seem, well, true.
But it is. And it heralds a change in my life like few others. So many decisions are going to be different. So many opportunities are open that weren't there before. So many responsibilities, details that have to be followed that I've never had to keep track of.
Maybe it's not as big a deal as it seems right now. Maybe it will come to feel normal before too long, as if it had always been this way.
But, for now, it's a different world, like none I've known.
Because, according to this letter and wallet card that came in the mail today...
... I have health insurance.
