By the Power Granted to Me by Absolutely Nobody I Hereby Declare Tuesday, June 24 to be National Take a Camera to Mississippi Day.
As Jed Lewison points out here, by way of the NYT, McDaniels' Teabaggers plan to send "observers" to the polls in Mississippi's Republican run-off, presumably to prevent the rampant vote fraud that doesn't occur.
But...
Among McDaniels' most fervent supporters are some of the stupidest, most racist people in a State that consistently ranks at the bottom of every measure of education, and eagerly awaits the invention of new categories to fail at.
These people are expected to interact with whatever African-American voters Cochran has persuaded to save his political ass.
While I'm willing to assume that the majority of the Teabagger poll-watchers will conduct themselves respectfully and professionally, there are lizard people amongst his flock, people who think nothing of sneaking into nursing homes and courthouses.
Since there aren't yet cameras monitoring all polling places, anybody with a camera/phone who needs something to do tomorrow could do worse than hanging out at a poll. In Mississippi.
You'll probably just be bored, but you might get game-changing video.
