A "police" officer prepares to shoot his fellow American citizens for exercising their First Amendment rights.
It's like the Ferguson cops are trying to prove they are the
biggest assholes in the country.
Nine people face charges for looting in Ferguson that followed the fatal shooting of Michael Brown Sunday night into Monday morning, according to St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch.
The nine face varying felony charges relating to burglary and theft along West Florissant.
The story then goes on to list the names, ages, and specific charges of each of those. And that's fine! They have been charged with a crime, that information is public record.
The problem, of course, is that the officer who murdered Michael Brown remains incognito, protected by a police force that has clearly closed ranks around its resident killer.
Now, some may argue, the murderer cop hasn't been charged with anything yet! And of course, that's even more of a problem. The eyewitness accounts are pretty clear about what happened. And the autopsy report? Well, police are trying to keep it secret for the next month:
Police won't release any further details of the autopsy, pending the results of toxicology tests. Those should be available in the next four weeks.
We already know that Robin Williams committed suicide, but Ferguson police will hold on to that report for four weeks fervently hoping they can show that he was smoking the marijuana. Who doesn't think that if the autopsy exonerated the cop, that it wouldn't have been released by now? Instead, you have the police chief making
lame arguments about not "tainting the witness pool." Nice try, asshole.
But by all means, highlight this double standard, the very double standard that has led to one tragic murder and days of justified unrests.
