Craigyferg returns! and not a moment too soon. After a vacation of what seems like months, Craig is back tonight with guests actor Ray Liotta and actress Annaleigh Ashford.
How was your weekend? My report: I had a vacation finally, only two days but it was very calming. Driving north with my daughter, her friend N and assorted food and drink items crammed up to my little Toyota's scuppers, the clutch failed as we turned off the freeway and started up the narrow mountain road to our destination in the redwoods. I jammed the poor old thing into second gear and we made it just fine in second the rest of the way, greeted as we pulled in to camp in the heat of late afternoon by smiling friends with g-&-t's in hand. Due to drought and fire danger the campout was low-key this year, not the usual big bash and bonfire. The trees worked their magic on our little group of old friends getting older. Some went to the hot springs yesterday; without reservations, I just walked in the redwoods, read and dozed, while D.D. and her friend hung out at the river that runs along the bottom of the property. Later we had margaritas with plenty of ice. Double-clutching at key points got us home safely and quickly this morning when D.D. had to go to work. My poor old car. I meant to have another one by now so haven't been taking very good care of it this last year. I never meant to take it on a road trip this way. But it got us there and back, the old thing. Toyota Corolla older than my 22-y.o. daughter.
