Any who know me personally know, I'm far from being a stranger to emergencies.
I listened to the 911 tapes that were released and was astounded and heartened by what I heard in such a tragic situation.
My hat goes off to the school personnel who called 911. Rather than the usual hysteria, they remained as calm as possible, retained control of their students, calmed them as much as possible and gave as much information as they had available.
It strongly suggests that they had some in service training on dealing with such emergencies.
It also displays their dedication to their students, as those who are not so dedicated would have folded up in a panic of personal protection.
