A convicted felon, child molester, and thief, who is not allowed to touch guns, was araigned Thursday in Pierce County Washington. He was shown on the reality show "Doomsday Preppers" Loading and firing two rifles.
"Even if he doesn't own the guns, he can't handle, have those weapons, fire them (or) possess them in any way," said Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer.
Tyler Richard Smith was featured on the National Geographic show which explores the lives of Americans who are preparing for the end of the world as we know it.
Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor said in a statement: "Mr. Tyler Smith gained national notoriety for appearing on a television show (National Geographic Channel) describing his plan for ‘marauding’, committing armed robbery when he believed ‘doomsday’ had arrived, his stated plan was not to defend himself but to use weapons he illegally possessed, to rob his neighbors at gunpoint. Did he really think that this wouldn't attract our attention?"

The show was filmed at an old ranch house on the Sumner Buckley Highway in Buckley. Tyler Smith claims to be a part of the group calling themselves the marauders and made it clear he was armed, but as a felon, possession of a firearm is against the law.
Smith says he is also the leader of the group Spartan Survival, founded in 2005, to train and prep others for survivalism
Smith says:
We are not into stockpiling, we are going to take what you have, there is nothing you can do to stop us. All your shiny AR's your high powered .308 rifles, your 50,000 rounds of ammo are all going to be ours. We are your worst nightmare, and we are coming.
Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor:
Your a convicted felon, and you go on television committing another crime, possessing firearms, What are you thinking?? Do you really think we would not notice?? We noticed, and we arrested him.
Who would have thought Steven King's world of
Running Man would become reality TV. Does National geographic think filming felons committing crimes makes a great idea for ratings?? Or does this survivalist just qualify for a Darwin??
