Ronald Reagan did state: There is no reason, on the street today, that a citizen should be carrying a loaded weapon. Guns are a ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will.
For five years you have been told Obama is gonna knock on your door and take your guns. For five years the gun manufacturers have enjoyed record profits all because of your fears.
How does it feel to be played for suckers?
Every time we have a mass shooting gun sales go through the roof, how does it feel knowing that the money made from those sales go fund the NRA so they can prevent efforts to stop more mass murders from happening, how does it feel knowing your money is going to fund a terrorist organization?
How does it feeling knowing your 401K investments are going to fund a terrorist organization?
Wall Street profits from gun violence and your investments are going to fund a terrorist organization and its legal here in the United States. No one from the FBI will come knocking at your door trying to arrest you because you are funding a terrorist group, nope not even, because you have the blessing of the United States government to fund the NRA, the most prolific terrorist group of all times.
Cerberus Capital Management is a New York investment firm that owns a 94 percent stake in Freedom Group — the gun company that made the assault rifle used at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The Cerberus stake in Freedom Group is worth between $700 and $957 million. Days after the Newtown shooting, the firm pledged to sell its investment in Freedom Group. Almost a year later, Cerberus still hasn’t kept its promise. Freedom Group’s Assault Rifles Freedom Group is the industry leader in manufacturing semiautomatic military-style assault weapons with high-capacity ammunition magazines. The company claims
a 48% share in the assault weapons market. These guns are designed for one purpose: to kill multiple human beings quickly.
Freedom Group’s Bushmaster XM-15 assault rifle was used to murder 20 children and six educators in Newtown. The same model of gun was used by the Washington, DC-area snipers in 2002 on a killing spree that left ten dead.
Through Freedom Group, Cerberus Capital Management helps fund the NRA and its efforts to block new gun violence prevention laws — like a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines — that would prevent future mass shootings. In May 2013, the NRA honored Freedom Group as one of its gun industry “corporate partners” that gave, in the NRA’s own words, “gifts of cash totaling $1,000,000 or more” because they fund the NRA’s efforts to block gun violence prevention efforts.
The gun manufacturers, such as Smith & Wesson, Beretta USA Corporation, Springfield Armory, Inc., and Sturm, Ruger & Co. who make millions from off the chart gun sales, go to great lengths to block background checks in Congress despite large public support to strengthen our gun laws and have made economic threats to local governments who attempted to enact gun safety legislation. The very definition of a terrorist group ,straight from the FBI's own web-site.
Members of the firearms industry have donated between $19.3 and $60.2 million to the NRA since 2005, (the range is due to the giving levels defined within the NRA donor program) as shown in the VPC’s recent study Blood Money II: How Gun Industry Dollars Fund the NRA.
Since Sandy Hook, many other investment firms have sold their holdings in gun companies. Cerberus needs to keep its promise to divest and so far Cerberus is continuing to fund the NRA which is nothing more than a legal terrorist organization.
