Nothing terribly deep and profound here; just an article I found interesting about a moment of Comic Book history. Eighty years ago, a couple kids from Cleveland named Jerry and Joe sold a comic strip they had created to National Publishing. It had been rejected by about every publisher around, but someone decided to take a chance on the outlandish character with an "S" on his chest.
In a piece for The Comics Journal, Comics historian R.C. Harvey looks at the various conflicting versions of how the Man of Steel got picked out of the slush pile and put on the cover of ACTION COMICS #1 and tries to piece together the story of Who Discovered Superman.
It might be a bit dull unless you're particularly into early comic book history, but I found it interesting.
Share and Enjoy.
