There's a scary Ebola outbreak here in the United States: Glenn Beck is going viral.
Beck, exiled from Fox News in the wake of calling Barack Obama a racist, has spent the last few years building an Alex Jones-style conspiracy-racist empire, TheBlaze.
With Ebola, Beck has got his groove back.
Not only is his site dominating social media . . .
But he's back on Fox, explaining to Bill O'Reilly that Obama is
deliberately letting Texas get infected because he
hates the (white) people there:
Let your friends and family know: Glenn Beck is a dangerous fear vector that can be transmitted over the Internet.
Fortunately, it is easy to inoculate loved ones against Beck, by reminding them that he's a right-wing conspiracy theorist that feeds on latent fear of hosts, and that the reason to be concerned about Ebola is because of compassion for people living in west Africa, outrage at our fear-peddling media, and anger at Republican opposition to international aid and public health.
MORE WAYS TO INOCULATE YOURSELF FROM GLENN BECK:
Though you won't hear this from Beck (or see it emphasized on CNN), there's some truly scary news on the Ebola front:
"The United Nations trust fund for Ebola barely has $100,000 in cash, a fraction of the nearly $1 billion that the world body says it needs to help tackle the outbreak," the New York Times reports.
In inspiring news, thousands of volunteers have responded to Avaaz's call to action, asking for medical professionals to train up and go to west Africa to fight the outbreak.
