Recently, 21st Congressional District candidate Aaron Woolf (D - Elizabethtown) launched a new commercial "True," that refutes repeated claims that he's a carpetbagger to the North Country and also highlights Elise Stefanik's role in serving as the Policy Director of the 2012 Republican Party platform documents, which supported full privatization of Social Security. The commerical is currently airing in all three major media markets within the 21st District, including Albany, Burlington-Plattsburgh and Watertown.
Woolf, who recently reported strong quarterly fundraising totals, outraising Stefanik by about $100,000, continues to gain in traction and name recognition with a Harper poll earlier this month showing him trailing Stefanik by only 8 points, even despite the millions that the RNC, Karl Rove's American Crossroads and numerous Super PACs have poured into television advertising supporting Stefanik's campaign.
Stefanik, a carpetbagger herself who doesn't own or rent property anywhere in the 21st District or New York State, has spent almost a decade living in Washington D.C., where she has worked as a high-profile Republican Party political operative, spending two years as an aide in the Bush Administration before becoming communications director for the hawkish, neo-conservative Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI), which currently supports boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria to fight Islamic militants. This year, Stefanik's campaign has been one of the largest recipients of Wall Street campaign cash, ranking second nationally in donations from hedge funds amongst house candidates, placing her right behind House Speaker John Boehner.
Woolf, who supports a pragmatic, centrist agenda in the mold of current Congressman Bill Owens (D) and former representatives from the area, including Scott Murphy (D) and John McHugh (R), needs your help in continuing this long-held tradition.
