We're researching a book about people who gave up stardom but found success in a progressive cause. Can you help us find them?
We're doing research for a book on people like this:
We’re talking about people like Dee Dee Jasmine, pictured above. Dee Dee had a promising career as a showgirl in the first interracial casino and stage show in Las Vegas. Yet, because of the casino’s bad management, bad location, bad timing and bad luck, Dee Dee had to leave the stage. Years later, she founded ETTA, Educating Through The Arts, a successful after-school program for children.
The book is a celebration of people who never became a star but found success in social and progressive causes. It's partly history, and partly inspiration.
This is a way to put them in the spotlight that they deserve.
More info and contact information for referrals are available at the original announcement: Looking for Rising Stars.
You just might know somebody or know somebody who does.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
