Losing the Senate doesn't matter that much, because we couldn't do anything when we had it the last two years -- maybe an appointment or two but Obama didn't make the best choices there.
As long as the Republicans will obstruct via the House, the Senate doesn't matter. And with gerrymandering from 2010 which may even get worse in 2020, the House may be lost for a very long time. If so, we are f***.
Until we get Senate, House and President, nothing is going to happen. Too bad Obama didn't take advantage of the opportunity in 2009. Now, I just hope he can stand up to them for the next two years.
