I want to thank, not just fellow veterans for your service, but the Kossacks here who have worked tirelessly on behalf of veterans. There are a lot of you here.
Personally, I don't really feel I deserve it, (I was much younger then, a long time ago (70s) and far away), nobody was SHOOTING at me, although it was a dangerous and difficult job I had, but I have reaped the rewards. Veteran's healthcare, which has kept me from staring at the poorhouse for healthcare costs, and I am tremendously grateful.
I know it's cheesy, but I tear up every time someone says to me "thank you for your service". I do. And I try to let every single (young and old, I'm 62 now) veteran know that I feel the same about them.
I love going out to the VA in Minneapolis for my doctor visits and getting to hang out there for awhile with some really cool old (and young) men and women. They are great. And the VA here is awesome.
Vetwife, your advocacy on behalf of all veterans is wonderful. I'm so glad to live in Minnesota, where we have people (like Al Franken) who care about them.
Happy Veteran's Day.
Love, Rose
