. . . . for the population?
I started down this road of consideration in another post:
Did He really just tell the community at large to fall back on the Stand Your Ground Law?
When I wrote that posting I had just seen the announcement not to indict Darren Wilson - and though I had been expecting this very announcement from practically day one - of when police officials started talking "at" the public - it still struck me as though I were punched in the stomach.
So I wrote that 1st posting (above) in an angry and I suppose a somewhat sarcastic mood.
Since then though - I have seen many other posts on this site as well as on others - I have also seen some of the reports on protests from around this country:
Nation Ferguson decision triggers nationwide protests ... www.usatoday.com/.../25/ferguson...wilson-nationwide-protests/70080116 Nov 25, 2014 · Ferguson decision triggers nationwide protests. Protesters across the nation marched and chanted their discontent

There are petition requests for Federal Charges to be brought - seeing as how the Missouri Legal System has failed the public:
Stand on the side of justice. Please sign this petition calling on AG Holder to ensure that Darren Wilson is held accountable for the death of Michael Brown.
So - now what?
As we can see from all of the protests going on nation wide - that this issue is not just about the Killing of Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson and the failure of the Missouri Legal system.
NO
This sad state of affairs is common in these United(?) States of America.
Death by Police is not a rare event.
(more below the fold)
So now as is also indicated by the petition request posted above. The public is demanding that the Federal Legal System Step In To See That "THEY" Bring Proper Charges Against Darren Wilson.
What if NOW the Federal Legal System Fails The Public - AGAIN - As Again Another UN-Armed Individual Has Been Killed By Police - I Say Again - Because This Is Not The 1st UN-Armed Individual Killed By Police In This Country - Where Charges Have Not Been Brought Against The Police Officer By The Local Authorities - AND - Where In These Past Instances That The Federal Legal System Has Failed To Step In To See That The Law Protects The Public.
So on another forum I was asked (well it was a question that was posed in general in reply to a comment that I had made) a question:
"What ''rule of law'' is there, when you can easily be killed in the street by a cop with legal cover from the state ?!!! "
I replied:
"Why there is the "Stand Your Ground Laws" for the population in extremes to use. I mean those laws were put on the books for just such things - weren't they? In reasonable fear for ones life - the law says you can murder someone - kinda preemptively. However I bet ALEC didn't have community protection against murdering police in mind when they pushed through that legislation in many states."
Now some may think that reply as being a bit "insane"?
But really - think about it. What does the public do when the rule of law fails to protect them from the police?
Look even in the statement that St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch (Darren Wilson's apparently self appointed "defender" - conflict of interest much?) made to the public - he referenced the Stand Your Ground Law as something that regular citizens were able to use in self defense - then he also went on to say that the police were given even wider latitude in how they acted.
How does the public go about (legally) seeing that law "does" rule and "does" apply to all? - yes even to those who work in law enforcement. In Many States - Stand Your Ground Laws Are On The Books - And They Do Basically State (and have been used successfully for legal defense to acquit citizen defendants - a sad case comes to mind = The Killing of Trayvon Martin and The Acquittal of His Killer George Zimmerman) That Any Citizen Who Is In Fear For Their Life Has The Right To End Another's Life. I mean No-One Is Supposed To Be Above The Law. But It Seems That Some People Have Forgotten That FACT. And If The Legal System Fails To Do It's Lawful Job - Then It Forces The Issue Back Onto The Public For Proper Remedy.
Does getting the law to represent all fairly - have to come to this?
Sun Nov 30, 2014 at 9:00 PM PT: Murderer Darren Wilson resigns from Ferguson Police Department - without severance pay.
Hmmmmmm - really?

WHASSsssup with that?
I mean yeah - there was no way in hell that he could stick around.
