Mitt Romney is notorious for the disdain he expressed for the 47%.
After Election Day, when the Democratic Party got thoroughly walloped, not just at the Federal level, but also in the States, Daily Kos comments show a lot of disdain for the voters. The voters are allegedly stupid, ill-informed, ignorant, bigoted, etc., etc., (just waiting to be rightly guided by their friendly progressive neighbor, no doubt).
I don't see this as tremendously different from Romneyism. In India, in Hindi, we say "जनता जनार्दन" (transliterated: janata janardhan), translated, janata is the people, janardhan is the One who is birthless, i.e., God. The people's verdict is what it is, you may not be happy with it; but you cannot disdain the people as a collective; and if they have made a mistake in their verdict, it is ultimately your failure, not theirs.
