(Ok, I'll get this over with and mention that Hillary wasn't one of them--she subtly denigrates him if she thinks it can win her favor for her entitled destiny, but it is beneath her to actually challenge him.)
Obviously this is going to be about Elizabeth Warren. My mind has been wandering the halls thinking it is probably is better if she stays in the Senate, cuz the prez thing is 8 years max. And it seems the human mind calls for a Messiah. And Obama burned us in that way, right? And Chris Matthews weighed in, but refrained from the "chill up the leg." Instead he said he'd never heard a speech like this in Congress.
I think political thinking is more superstitious than any religion. In her Inevitable Route to Coronation in 2008, Hillary did get in a jab or 2 about Obama's speech-making prowess.
But let's make distinctions. Obama spoke platitudes.Elizabeth Warren educated us in her recent speech. She has always walked the walk. To be bullied into thinking that she is not tenable as a leader, is to acknowledge our powerless over money. Oh yeah, run over the scenarios in your mind, where Hillary is president and becomes FDR. Magically.
And then there is Malala. The recent Nobel Prize Winner, who told Obama that the drone strikes were feeding terrorism. She was unapologetic about being a Muslim. She is a brave woman standing up for the right of all children to be educated. She is 17 years old.
