A daily series, Connect! Unite! Act! seeks to create face-to-face networks in each congressional district. Groups regularly socialize but also get out the vote, support candidates and engage in other local political actions that help our progressive movement grow and exert influence on the powers-that-be. Visit us at Daily Kos every morning at 7:30 A.M. Pacific Time to see how you can get involved. The comment thread is fun and light-hearted, but we're serious about moving the progressive political agenda forward.

Photos of the SFKossacks' Holiday Party at Daily Kos HQ
Once a year, we try to have a big party at the Daily Kos headquarters in Berkeley. This year we had it in mid-December with another terrific turnout of about 60 people. While Markos provided the main course dishes, the rest of us brought potluck, beverages and desserts. As you will see, we had a great time!
The following are photographs from my camera, sfbob's and citisven's. You can click on any of their photos and be taken to their Flickr album where many more photos of our event live.
Behold, a few of those photos:

Markos spoke about what a positive year Daily Kos has had. Our traffic is higher than ever before. He said we're going to win in 2016 and we need to gear up for 2018 since that will be a tougher year. I spoke about organizing locally in real life to make a difference for 2018. My energy in 2015 is going to be spent on creating an on-the-ground infrastructure of Kossacks who can motivate the people around them politically. I suggested how a difference could be made with Kossacks on school boards, in municipal leadership, as representatives, etc. plus doing the requisite GOTV effort.
Next, tmservo433 spoke for a few minutes. He's going to be the host Kossack of our Central Regional Mini-conference in Kansas City on April 25th. He gave us a taste of the progress he made, with the help of Daily Kos, in Kansas and Missouri. He's going to give a fabulous presentation next spring.
The crowd listening to tmservo433.
Finally, we presented Meteor Blades with his Community Quilt
Another masterpiece by Sara R and winglion with over 200 messages of support. Here Meteor Blades is explaining the keris that Sara and her sister beaded into the design. Folklore reported that some keris were made from meteor iron so MB named his Indonesian knife business Meteor Blades. Raise your hand if you know MB's real name. ;)
Thanks to everyone who attended! And a special thanks to those who helped me set-up and clean-up. Especially the clean-up part, I was pretty tired by then.
And now for some delicious food pr0n:
L-R: Ratatouille with polenta squares, Butternut squash with farro, parmesan, spinach and onion, White bean sausage cassoulet & Marinated chicken skewers by Lucy Aghadjian Catering in Berkeley. Click on each thumbnail for a larger photo.
And let's not forget the dessert table, yum!
Yes, this is the longest diary ever... But wait. There's more below!
Tell us about your holiday parties this year!
Let's Build Communities!
Our team is here to provide support and guidance to new and existing volunteer leaders of each regional and state group, helping them with recruiting, organizing and executing social and action events.
We invite you to join in this effort to build our community. There are many ways to pitch in.
If there isn't a group to join near you, please start one.

THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY
by cooper888 ♥ for Sacramento Kossacks
We heard from navajo and Meteor Blades about the initiative by Daily Kos to have active Kossack groups in each of the state capitals. DK is looking for engaged Kossack's ready to roll up their sleeves and participate in many different types of activism/advocacy. For example, delivering petitions to the state capitol, participating in various protests, marches, rally's at the capitol, etc. As Meteor Blades pointed out this won't happen over night and is a long term strategy but I think if we all take the lead in our respective states we can make this dream happen sooner than DK leadership expects.
L-R: Front row: Sychotic1, tgypsy, tb92, trevizolga, Mrs. side pocket. Second row: Arundsdel (sp?), Laurel in CA, Kestrel, Meteor Blades.
