In the video report by KXLY, Kootenai County sheriff's spokesman Stu Miller states that the unidentified woman in her late 20s was shopping with 4 children in the electronics section of Hayden's Walmart store, when a 2 year old child in the shopping cart got access to a concealed firearm in the women's purse which was discharged one time, striking and killing the unidentified 29 year old woman at the scene. He said that the Walmart store will be closed while the scene is being processed and that witnesses were being questioned by detectives in the ongoing investigation. He didn't seem to know when Walmart will reopen.

-- A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his mother after he reached into her purse at a northern Idaho Wal-Mart and her concealed gun fired, authorities said Tuesday.
Kootenai County sheriff's spokesman Stu Miller told The Associated Press the woman was shopping with her son and three other children. Her family had come to the area to visit relatives, he said.
The woman, whose identity was not released, had a concealed weapons permit. Miller said the young boy was left in a shopping cart, reached into the victim's purse and grabbed a small caliber handgun, which discharged one time.

International Sky News has published the following video which states the 29 year old woman killed may not be the child's mother. Obviously this is a family tragedy which occurred during the holiday season and should be met with condolences and sober reflection. What should we learn from this? What if anything should we change? You decide. You tell us.
The point of this diary is simply to report this tragedy that occurred and not to editorialize it. The diary attempts to bring together video reports from different news sources in one place as a service to the community to help facilitate discussion of the incident, again without editorializing it by offering just the facts of the report.
