Diversity Chronicle had me going.
This is what I wrote:
This is truly interesting.
I see by the date on the news source,
the Pope spoke these word late last December.
If this was already thoroughly diaried,
here at Daily Kos,
I missed it.
Even if so,
I hope some of you don't mind
reading my two cents worth of thoughts
on the words of the Pope.

I was looking for the full transcript,
and couldn't find it.
Quotes and commentary,
below the fold.
Once again,
this was satire.
I thought it was news.
Here is what I wrote:
Let's start with the Church:
Well,
as I looked at the quotes,
I see the Pope
eliminated
the Church,
and
the truth,
both,
in one statement:
“All religions are true, because they are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. What other kind of truth is there? - See more at: http://citypeoplenews.com/...
And again,
in another statement:
Catholicism is now a “modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance. We must recognize that religious truth evolves and changes. Truth is not absolute or set in stone. - See more at: http://citypeoplenews.com/...
Alright,
he eliminated truth,
as I understand it,
since,
if a thing is not simply true,
even when folks don't feel it's true,
then it's not truth,
as I understand it.
And,
he eliminated any church or religion,
since any religion,
as I understand it,
involves an organization
that states some truths,
as defined above.
Last,
but not least,
the Pope eliminated God,
twice,
in two separate statements:
Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well, and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity.” - See more at: http://citypeoplenews.com/...
Second statement:
“God is changing and evolving as we are, For God lives in us and in our hearts. When we spread love and kindness in the world, we touch our own divinity and recognize it. - See more at: http://citypeoplenews.com/...
Seems to me that
rather than a god who is a person,
independent of humans,
he speaks of a god that is a thing,
a thing that is found inside humans.
And that about sums it up.
Now,
I'm a non-believer.
In this world,
as I understand it,
there are about
two billion Christians,
one and a half billion Muslims,
one billion Hindus,
and one billion non-believers:
world population numbers
About 20% of Americans are non-believers.
I have two main points to make,
one makes me happy,
one makes me sad.
The point that makes me happy is,
for all practical purposes,
the Pope is a non-believer.
Welcome,
Pope Francis,
to the ranks of non-believers,
one billion strong.
The point that makes me sad,
is the way he killed the basic concept
of truth,
otherwise known as
correct information.
If I tell you
using tobacco
is very likely to kill you,
that is correct information,
and it has an effect on me,
if you're in my family,
if you're a good friend,
your use of tobacco
has an effect on me.
The funeral is tomorrow,
for a pretty good friend,
a co-worker,
at my Walmart workplace.
Tom and I saw our duties
in a similar light,
unload the truck,
sort out the items correctly,
make sure everything gets put out
to the right department,
on the sales floor.
We understood each other,
we liked each other.
He was a smoker.
Now he's dead.
My oldest sister,
Adonna,
will be dead within a year.
Same thing,
long term smoker,
now has cancer.
My younger brother,
Brent,
and his wife,
Brigitte,
are smokers.
No news is good news so far,
on their health,
but I expect to have the unpleasant experience
of attending their funerals,
before I die.
I like correct information,
independent of what folks
feel they want to believe.
But,
if I can't persuade anyone,
what good is my precious correct information,
my precious truth?
Maybe,
if I think in terms of what is practical,
maybe the Pope is correct.
Wait,
that can't be true,
because then that truth
would be truth!
Oh well.
Thanks for reading.
