From the "I'm not making this up" files:
I just heard the anchor on the local news with his "And finally..." story about the Sochi Olympics, stating with great excitement about the influences of the Western world on Russia, including ... McDonald's!
"You know what they call a quarter pounder in Russia?" he asked his co-anchor, sounding like he just discovered a new energy source. " A - get this - a royale with cheese!"
Really? He couldn't have saved his enthusiasm for the story on the quantum computer?
(The weatherman, a former disc jockey, could barely contain himself when he realized that the anchorman apparently slept thru the '90s.)
How do you say, "Can I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down?" in Russian?
