This morning as I walked I saw Venus
On the empty darkened streets of San Dimas
Clear and bright and big and beautiful
Beyond any words a stumbling poet could bring to his brain
She soon disappeared in the pink lined with gray clouds
Advancing the arrival of the burning sun
Damning the darkness and warming the soul
There is always light
Sometimes not as bright
As we might want
But there always till the coming of brighter light and heat
As long as there is light the darkness will be beat.
