I wrote a short post on Thursday just to let those who might read my posts and comments that I would probably be much less loquacious for a while in my posts and comments, and then I saw that there was a huge response and many kind wishes.
Thank you all for your support and kind words.

The Recording
The Radio and Television Supreme Council of the Turkish Government has issued two press releases regarding the prohibition of coverage of the recently released recording.
The first, dated March 27, 2014 at 6:30pm, describes how the Turkish Prime Minister or his deputy can prohibit broadcasts under Turkish law when necessary for national security reasons. It then goes on to state that an order prohibiting the broadcast of the recording has been issued by Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç.

The second, dated March 29, 2014 at 1:30pm, states that in accordance with a court order which cites national security, public order, and the protection of the government's security as its justifications, the council has prohibited all types of news, reporting, commentary, etc. about matters included in the scope of the investigation into the recording on all written, visual, and internet media.

If another DK user were to want to post a full translation of the recording I think that he or she might want to check the accuracy of the translation first and maybe get some help in doing so from other DK users.
Twitter and YouTube
Twitter is still impossible to access normally but can easily be accessed by using VPN.
Yesterday Twitter won a court case it had brought in a higher court to overturn a lower court's ruling that a Twitter account be banned. The court overturned the lower court's decision ruling that such a ban was an infringement on both the people's right to freedom of speech and to be informed. A former minister who is the AKP's candidate for the mayor of Izmir had sought and obtained the ban on the Twitter account because it was being used to Tweet items related to corruption allegations being made against the minister.
It seems that all legal grounds for the Twitter ban have been overcome and/or overturned but Twitter is still banned.
YouTube is now generally not accessible by normal means, it seems that the ban is now fully in place, but YouTube can also be accessed by using VPN.
Tomorrow's Local Election
Tomorrow there will be a nationwide election for local governments in Turkey. I have written a post about the election with some background information included, and I will be re-posting it soon.
I will write about the results of the election - beginning at 6:00pm local time (12:00 noon in New York) tomorrow - when the results begin to come in.
