Received this e-mail today from Congresswoman Cheille Pingree (D. ME-01) is a big opponent of the Comcast-Time Warner merger:
Yesterday, Comcast and Time Warner were here on Capitol Hill to justify their mega-merger and convince my colleagues in the Senate that their whole-scale takeover of the cable and broadband market is in the best interests of consumers.
Well, they didn't convince me -- but many lawmakers and pundits are convinced that this cable monopoly is inevitable.
That's why I need your help to prove them wrong and spread the word that this deal is bad for us as consumers who care about the free and open internet.
I filmed this quick video explaining why our petition to stop the merger is so important -- and to thank you and everyone else who has signed so far.

Will you watch the video -- and then share it with your friends to help spread the word?

They may have dozens of corporate lobbyists -- but we have you. And that's far more powerful.
Thanks for everything you do.
