Beloved Peregrine Kate will be in Washington DC !
I would like to welcome her on April 26th in a welcome meet-up near the Washington Mall and the White House. We intend to march at the "Reject and Protect - No Keystone XL" rally and have a "DC/VA/MD Kossacks Welcome Meet-Up" afterwards.
Would "a few good men and women" please:
Connect! with mimi
Unite! with peregrine kate and
Act! in support of the Reject and Protect movement against the Keystone XL pipeline
Peregrine Kate is active everywhere here on dailykos, organizes the Motor City Kossacks, is a strong supporter of the Climate Change SOS group, is founder of the Monday Night Cancer Club, where she writes in a way that it gets under your skin and directly into your heart. She is a true treasure to the Daily Kos site and anything I could say about her would sound clumsy to your ears. Therefore ...
Instead of talking, let's just come together and celebrate her!
Please follow me to the details of activities on April 26th on the Washington Mall and the White House.
The Reject and Protect - Stop Keystone XL movement is organized by the "Cowboy and Indian Alliance", also known as C.I.A. They are supported by a vast alliance of other organizations like 350.org and over 20 other organizations among others the following:
- Cheasepeake Climate Action Network CCAN
- Sierra Club
- Credo action
- Energy Action Coalition
- Oyate Wahacanka Weocun - "Shield the People"
- Oceti Sakowin - "The People of the Seven Council Fires"
This rally is important and we want to be part of it
From the Reject and Protect's “Call to Action” and "Camp Schedule:
Our alliance of pipeline fighters — ranchers, farmers, tribal communities, and their friends — called the Cowboy Indian Alliance will ride into Washington DC for the next, and perhaps final, chapter in the fight against Keystone XL.
On that day, we will set up a tipi camp on the mall nearby the White House, lighting our fire and burning our sage, and for 5 days, we will bear proud witness to President Obama’s final decision on Keystone XL, reminding him of the threat this tar sands pipeline poses to our climate, land, water and tribal rights.
On April 26th we invite our friends and allies against the pipeline to join us as we conclude our camp and make our final, unmistakable message to President Obama. Our community of pipeline fighters just sent 2 million comments against the pipeline in just 30 days. We must follow this up with action in the streets on April 26th as we march with tribal leaders and individuals currently living with the risk tar sands to show all the beauty and power we represent.
Everyone is needed and everyone is welcome!.
Peregrine Kate and I will march behind our Daily Kos CUA banner
Please join us and help carry the banner.

The Fun Part - Welcome Meet-Up for Peregrine Kate
Location: Aria Pizzeria & Bar at Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
Directions: From Metro Center Station walk to 13th Street and then South to Pennsylvania Avenue. Continue straight, walking into the courtyard area in between the Ronald Reagan Building and the International Trade Center. Aria Pizzeria is on your right.
This location is around a 10 minutes walk (or less) from Lafayette Square at the White House and close to both Metro Stations Metro Center and Federal Triangle.
Time: 2 pm til you arrive, open ended
This place is known as the largest Patio in Washington, the outside is open seating without waiter service, you pick your food inside and can sit outside at the patio protected from rain.
If you want a restaurant style set-up with waiter service, it is only available as of 4 pm and I would have to reserve a table. They accept reservations only up to ten people.
The place has wifi. It is a little bit calmer atmosphere than sitting inside a very crowded restaurant or bar, of which ALL will be crowded on that day.
And it is very close, so that people exhausted from marching don't have to add another long walk to the meet-up place.
It has a little extra something, I also like about the place:
"We are proud to partner with Cohn’s Kitchen, a DC based 501c non-profit whose mission is to provide restaurant and culinary job training and workforce development to under-served and underprivileged DC young adults.".
You will find a little sign on the table in the patio area with the a logo still to me made which will show a combined MD/VA/DC sort of logo, because ALL OF YOU are very welcome. I will post it here as soon as I have made one. Stay tuned. Thanks.
