Received this e-mail from Senator Mark Udall (D. CO) today:
Have you heard about the new McCutcheon deal?
No, it’s not the latest item on the dollar menu. It’s the U.S. Supreme Court’s most recent ruling on campaign finance reform that is definitely a good deal for billionaires and special interest groups looking to buy elections.
We can fight back against this affront to our democratic election process. My colleagues in Congress and I have joined forces to call for reform — either through legislation such as the DISCLOSE Act or by overturning the ruling entirely by passing a constitutional amendment.
Please sign on to our petition. Demand meaningful campaign finance reform now.

By scrapping an important cap on campaign contributions, McCutcheon allows big donors to give to as many candidates, committees, and PACs as they want. That’s right — no limit on how many seats in Congress they can buy.
Coloradans are tired of outside spending and extreme television ads. Thanks in part to the McCutcheon ruling, we’ll see even more bombarding our airwaves.
Just in the last month, the Koch brothers have dropped more than a million dollars to smear my record. And McCutcheon is just another tool in their billionaire toolbox.
Join my colleagues and me in calling on Congress to take immediate action on campaign finance reform.
