While I was running this morning, listening to nature,I saw young children playing in their yards. One little girl calls me the "running man". She ran out and handed me a flower. I
thanked her and quickly looked for her parents. They were watching her and waved at me.
The street has few cars. I ran for another hour clutching my flower.
I turned on my block and saw children playing everywhere. It is Saturday morning on my block, and the neighbors are out in full force. It's nice to have neighbors wave and smile and ask how my run was.
Problems are everywhere in this country, but for this moment in time, life is good on my block.
Saturday morning is much different in a country 6,623 miles from my block. When you go there, you are in Syria.
Children in this country have spent much of their young lives seeing obscene things every
day. Thousands of children have died. Loud noises, explosions, screams, and death is everywhere.
The war once was about a president unwilling to give up power, that fact is still here, but
other murderers have joined the killing frenzy because they have their own agenda's.
Genocide is happening here and there is no end in sight.
I remember the children in Vietnam, villages right next to loud airplanes dumping Agent Orange. Our medical group would provide medical and dental attention to them. I always
brought my pet gibbon with me. The children could still laugh and smile surrounded by death. My God they were strong.
It's nothing more than luck that we are not citizens in Syria. No matter what is happening
in your life, it's trivial compared to these folks.
Feel lucky you live here and not there. I give donations to several agencies trying to help.
Never would I want our troops there.I remember what the president of France once asked
why we were in Iraq. Everyone knew Osama was not there. He finally said if our mission
was to rid the world of "bad men",we were going to be very busy.

Hug your loved ones, and be happy "our" battles are at the ballot box and to make our Country better. We have so much to be thankful for. We lucked out when we were not
forced to see what "real terror" is like.
"Syria deeply" is a powerful site to see on the net. Go there once in a while,if only to weep.
