Can you imagine being elected to have the honor to serve a Governor of the citizen of your state and having the opportunity to get them a free Federally funded expansion of Medicaid and then turn it down to make petty ideological points? Points that harm your state's economy to the tune of $5 billion dollars and cost it jobs, and drives up the medical premiums of those who have insurance? This is the kind of man Governor Rick Scott is and in Charlie Crist Hammers Rick Scott For Failing To 'Lift A Finger' On Medicaid Expansion, we finally here Democrats telling voter of Florida what this clown has been doing trying to run the state into the ground when we need jobs and health care!
"Even [House Speaker] Will Weatherford said, 'The governor never called me to bring up that bill to expand Medicaid.' That would have been one thing. I would have called the Speaker...used the bully pulpit to talk about it every damned day,” Crist, who is challenging Scott in the 2014 gubernatorial race, told reporters on Wednesday, according to Creative Loafing Tampa. “Because otherwise sick people get sicker." ...
"Most of these people have good hearts,” Crist said. "I think that if you're in the governor's chair, and you make an appeal to them and you point out to them how every single day if you don't get this Medicaid expansion done, people are getting sick, and they're getting sicker, and some will die. And just be honest with them that way. It's hard for them to say, 'No, I'm not going to do that.' Because you can get to their heart if you work."
"About a million of my fellow Floridians are not getting health care today, and I am told by friends at SIEU (sic) that means that six people in Florida die every day as a result of that. Every day," Crist said on MSNBC's "Daily Rundown."
Florida's rerection of Medicaid expansion has cost it $5 billion in federal funding, and jobs to the state, as well as failure to insre up to 1 million low-income Floridians.
We see a clear cut distinction between candidates here folks. This election is worthy of our time to get out and vote as it will make as big a difference in our daily lives as any presidential elections. Medicaid expansion will bring $5 billion dollars right into Florida immediate, bringing with it much needed jobs, and health care coverage for our poorest, and meaning the the rest of rest us do not have subsidize their coverage on our premiums. We need to clean house and get rid of these ideological zealots and get ourselves political leaders who will work for the people of our state, and not their ideological masters in Washington. Let's throw Rick Scott and the rest of these Republican bums out and start with a clean slate.
