The New Populism Conference is an all-day event focused on strategies for educating, energizing and mobilizing around an agenda for economic change that strong majorities of Americans already support, including:
• Investing in good jobs to achieve full employment
• Ensuring that anyone who works full time should not be in poverty
• Breaking up the banks that are “too big to fail”
• Increasing, not cutting, Social Security benefits
• Recognizing that America is not broke; the rich and big corporations are not paying their fair share.
• Rejecting the Supreme Court’s view that corporations are people, and refusing to let big money buy our democracy.
I'll update this blog with your good comments below. I can be here most of the afternoon; want to help out, please say so in comments, thanks and enjoy.

9:03 AM PT: "Our fight just can't be talking to each other, we must draw in other people."
Sen. Elizabeth Warren
9:17 AM PT: Why are trade deals secret? Because if people knew what was in them, they would be opposed. The game is rigged, Warren keeps repeating.
Presently listing values worth fighting for; moving speech ended with "I hope you are ready to fight."
Question, will you join Sanders in the Dem primary for president? Warren answers, "I'm not running for president; lists her agenda and says, "these are what I'm fighting for."
1:45 PM PT: Sen Sanders: Pitch perfect, lengthy speech and spot on; in concluding, he said (paraphrased) don't turn your backs on the political process; our job is to shape political consciousness, we have the people on our side; they overwhelming agree with everything I've said today; educate and organize in 50 states.
Oligarchy? Redouble our efforts, don't turn your backs now.
Taking questions: "crooks on Wall Street, a fraudulent workplace."
3:10 PM PT: Extraordinary speech by Rev. Barber.
"imagination must come before implementation;"
"you and I are the reminders, we are who we are looking for;"
Moving comparison of the history of Black and White fusion coalitionists in the last half of the 1800's, the first reconstruction, and today.
