Istanbul, population 14,160,000, is running out of water.
According to the latest statistics from the Istanbul water authority the level of the reservoirs and lakes which supply water to Istanbul has dropped to 28% of capacity.
At the same time last year they were 86.97% full and the level has been dropping since then as the rainfall which supplies them has not fallen.
Some water is being pumped to the reservoirs from two rivers near Istanbul but I don't think that they can make up the shortage.
If it doesn't rain, Istanbul is in for a dry, dry summer.
