The historic C-47 has completed its transatlantic crossing, and is currently at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, before heading to Normandy, France for the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings. Ramstein is where its 37th Airlift Squadron descendants operate, flying C-130J's.
Whiskey 7's flight was written up here two weeks ago. It was featured in a NY Times article, and has been the subject of regular news updates. WXXI out of Rochester, NY has several videos of the trip, here and here. The arrival at Ramstein is the video above; here's the departure from the grass strip at Geneseo, NY:

As WXXI reports:
The World War Two era plane, Whiskey 7, took off from the Geneseo to be present at the French Commemoration of D-Day. During the first two weeks of June, the World War Two plane will fly over original drop zones and deploy volunteer paratroopers.
Captain John Stewart Lindsay is a pilot on the five-person flight crew. Although, Lindsay has flown over the Atlantic hundreds of times, this flight is the most important of his life. For Lindsay, it’s both historic and personal.
“My son has become part of the Liberty Jump Team. And the two of us together are going to share this experience,” said Lindsay. “I’ll be flying the plane and he’ll be jumping out the back. And that’s been my focus for the last several months.”
Congratulations to everyone who has made this trip possible, and best wishes for continued success.
