Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)
We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 7:00 am Eastern (and perhaps sometimes earlier!). Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the Auto Publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometimes the diarist du jour shows up much later: that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Volunteer in the comment threads.

So no Zydeco for me and my Fallowers, (Fallowers are like Beliebers only they qualify for Senior's discount at Denny's).
As some of you may know, I am not a great fan of washboards and accordions, the first of which should be relegated to the scullery (look it up if you don't know what it means, or just watch an episode of Downton Abbey), and the second to the foundry.
However, a quick look at my profile will inform you that I am a big fan of sixties folk rock, and especially Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and the whole Chelsea Hotel crowd - well maybe not Sid and Nancy. When I am feeling maudlin, which is more frequent since I assumed status of a grumpy old man, I sometimes go on a youtube bender, when I listen to old songs from the sixties played by young people from the sixties, more recent young people, old people who were young people in the sixties, and some of their kids and even grandkids.
But everytime, I find something new. Some are keepers - for a while my ring tone was Tower of Song by Martha Wainwright (daughter of Loudon Wainwright III of Be Careful there's a Baby in the House) and some are passing interest.
Today's find was a cover of Cohen's Suzanne by Nina Simone. Very very different.
But suck it and see.
What is your favorite cover version?
