I've always been an admirer of people who double down on foolish commentary. It takes a special brand of person to decide that now, 2 years later, is the ideal time to say that maybe the public apology you gave a while back wasn't a real apology because you were right all along.

'My comment about a woman's body shutting the pregnancy down,' Akin adds in the book, 'was directed to the impact of stress on fertilization. This is something fertility doctors debate and discuss. Doubt me? Google "stress and fertilization," and you will find a library of research on the subject.'
That's right. Todd Akin is back, and he's decided now is the perfect time for a no-pology tour.
Todd Akin, in his new book 'Firing Back' makes several allegations:
* The Republican Party sold him out, and that the 'Republicans' are in fact the ones 'in name only', urging others to take over the party.
* Akin makes a defense on behalf of children born from rape:
He insists, for instance, that he never denied the possibility of pregnancy from forcible rape.
'In fact, several fantastic young Americans who campaigned with me were themselves the products of rape,' Akin writes. 'And they were thankful I would stand with them.'
Akin refers to the Republican party as 'run by bosses rather than the people'.
He's in the middle of a mini-press tour, and promotion of a book that comes out July 15.
Please Todd, on behalf of all Democrats everywhere.. grab as many bullhorns as you can get to explain your position on rape.. over and over and over again. Accuse Republicans who don't stand with you of being fake Republicans.
It's like a mini Christmas in July.
