Facebook does not permit hate speech, but distinguishes between serious and humorous speech. While we encourage you to challenge ideas, institutions, events, and practices, we do not permit individuals or groups to attack others based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or medical condition.
So how does this post from John A. Brown ring with you:
John A Brown shared Conservative America's photo,
This is what it is coming down to. We will have to fill the void left by the despicable son of a bitch in the White House and his equally despicable fucking Attorney General. They are giving the country away, people. They deserve to die as the traitors they are, swinging from a rope until they stop jiggling around.
Does this cross the line of Facebook's terms of service?
Here is s screen shot:
Does it cross the line of:
Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States". The United States Secret Service investigates suspected violations of this law and monitors those who have a history of threatening the President.
Facebook distinguishes between serious and humorous speech. Where is the humor in the post above?
Because the offense consists of pure speech, the courts have issued rulings attempting to balance the government's interest in protecting the President with free speech rights under the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. According to the book Stalking, Threatening, and Attacking Public Figures, "Hundreds of celebrity howlers threaten the President of the United States every year, sometimes because they disagree with his policies, but more often just because he is the President."
And this is not an isolated incident.
I would really like to encourage anyone who reads this post to go to the Facebook page called "Put President Obama on Mt. Rushmore." I was just on that page and left this message:
"He SHOULD be on Mt. Rushmore . . . swinging from the gallows . . . a warning to all statists."
I think they need people to add content to that page. Know what I mean, Vern?
