Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
So, we have two things to discuss this week.
First, and most important, is the news from Wowhead via Wow Insider that the response to the petition calling for an NPC to honor the late Robin Williams has been datamined out of the WoD files by Wowhead.
The new NPC, Robin the Entertainer, has three forms (so far): human male, human female, and genie.
More info (what there is) at the WoW Insider link.
Second, it appears that the developmenttt team is finally going to get off their asses and get working on a comprehensive description of just what garrisons are for, or will be for in the next expansion. Here we have the link to MMO-Champion where the blues discuss this.
With that, on to the raid reports!
Here's Ninotchka with the Team Kaels and Flexorama reports:
I haven't written an update for a while and I'm sorry. I don't have a lot of news for you, but here's what there is.
Flexorama had a nice relaxing run of the first 6 bosses this week. We had a couple of very undergeared folks and a couple of brand new legendary capes. It was a hunterful raid. It was the last day of the Gaze of the Black Prince buff, so many people got sigils and secrets and runestones and such.
Team Kaels continues to chip away at Dark Shaman. We had some people out last week, and were aided by able substitution from Taklok as our third tank. We changed up our strategy again, tanking Haromm inside Garrosh's house instead of at the top of the hill and sending most of the raid inside with him. This is apparently much easier to handle movement-wise. This left me, Tay and Carune to deal with Kardris outside. I wish I could say that I'm getting good at this fight, but I have tried not to lie to you. I have had a grand total of two pulls where I felt competant. Still, we've gotten to below 20% a couple of times and we just need to keep it together a little while longer and we'll have the kill.
Wreck List is on the beta servers. We haven't managed any group content yet since everyone is still spread out in levels and looking through things at their own pace. I've got one 100. I have to report that from my perspective it's still a buggy mess, but there's a new build coming out today and hopefully it'll fix the worst of the issues. Praying that it fixes my blacksmithing, because I'm really not sure if I will like the new crafting system and until I can actually start it I won't know.

Team RubiPam Relaxed Mode:
Team RubiPam is pretty much done with progression for this expansion - we had our full regular team Monday night, but did not make much progress on heroic Immerseus, which was disappointing but probably not unexpected as we hadn't tried it in several weeks, and really, we're just tired. Several people are ready for a break in raiding until WOD, while others would like to keep doing something, but there is not really enough interest to keep pushing heroic progression. We killed Garrosh, that was our main goal, and we got one heroic down, so I feel good about what we've accomplished - but I am really over Siege of Orgrimmar at this point. Nonetheless, several people on the team would like to keep raiding, so I came up with the following plan -
I will continue to organize raid events of some sort for Thursday nights, for as many of our team who feel like doing something, and inviting folks from the guild to join us. We will do whatever we have the personnel for, including flex (continuing from wherever Nina's flex leaves off on Tuesdays), normal (mainly for folks who are gearing up toons they plan to mainly play in WOD), or even (although this is a remote possibility) a heroic if Team K is taking a break that week and some of them want to join forces with us to try some heroic modes. We could even try heroic TOT, if people want to do something different, and if Thanael can convince enough people that it's worth doing to get to Ra-Den. And if we don't get enough people together for even a flex on a given Thursday, I'm not going to worry about it, we'll just take a crack at it again the following week. This leaves Mondays open for possible guild 25 mans, particularly if Team Z gets Garrosh down soon. I'm looking at these Thursday events as basically very relaxed time fillers for the next 2 months, until patch 6.0 drops.
When 6.0 drops, Siege will all be flex, except for mythic difficulty, under the new system that will govern WOD - at that point, we can see who wants to do some of that, but, again, I'm not anticipating more than once a week, unless there's popular demand for more.
I am hoping we can pull a few 25-man Monday night raids together - Chanta suggested we call it "Last Chance Mondays" - just for something different to do. I do hope guildies can join us for some Thursday night runs as well - I'm ready to just relax and try to learn tanking and build up Papa's huntering to pass the time till Nov. 13.

That's what I have for this week.
For the Horde!
