Got Militarized, Over-reaching, Rights-Crushing Cops? Check. Got Injustice? Check. Got support from the Bundy Brigade?
What are you kidding? http://talkingpointsmemo.com/...
Could it be that ordinary Americans maligned as racists are honestly waiting for more information, or suffer an authoritarian, submissive mindset; are ignorant about “police state USA,” or have simply experienced “black crime” firsthand, or are fearful of experiencing “black-on-white violence” in all it (sic) ferocity?
Could it be this guy is a walking, talking, asshat? Yes, it could be.
After multiple witnesses, from Tiffany Mitchell, Piaget Crenshaw and Michael Baker have already come forward and stated on camera confirming everything Dorian Johnson has stated about the confrontation that led to Michael Brown's death he's still "waiting for more information".
What information? A deceptively edited video that makes Michael Brown look like a Thugish Robber when he very well may not be?
None of the people who've been willing to come forward and have been able to prove that they were actually there at the scene, have contradicted the primary facts.
Michael Brown was unarmed. He was surrendering. He posed no threat. He was still shot down and Murdered.
But this guy - he needs "More"? He thinks that the crime isn't that Michael Brown couldn't walk home from the store without getting shot dead, it's that poor "ordinary Americans are being maligned as racists".
Cops are not "ordinary Americans". Sorry, just not. If anything ordinary Americans are being called "tacit enablers" for failing to stand up and demand that the laws be apply justly and equally.
It's not really like a valid argument that White people are receiving this treatment on anywhere near this frequency. It may happen occasionally, and that clearly sucks. It certainly happened to members of Occupy, but IMO it's not standard consistent policy for them. For Black people it seems different. But to repeat myself from yesterday in response to Ben Stein on the subject of how often unarmed black men face deadly use of force by the police.
How exactly does Ben Stein know how rare this type of thing is because neither the FBI Uniform Crime Report section on Justifiable Homicides by Law Enforcement, nor the Bureau of Justice Statistic Use of Force Report (which says Black people are threatened with use of force three times more frequently) - bothers to document this specific information, even though they've required to do so by law since 1994.
The only estimates we have which have been manually cobbled together from media reports, are that it happens about 300 Times per Year, which is not really that "rare" at all.
On the claim that they've experienced "black crime firsthand" - that doesn't fit the facts either. The real data on Murder Rates is that
65% of the people Arrested for Killing Whites, are White - while only 44% of the People arrested for Killing Blacks, are Black.
The number people arrested overall in America are overwhelmingly White [6.5 Million in 2012], not Black [2.6 Million]. So how's it possible so many people could have experience "black crime firsthand" when White people get arrested for Rape, Assault, Burglary, Larceny, Arson, Fraud and Embezzelment and average of between 2 and 3 times as often as Black people? [Which means since Black people get arrested twice of often as they actually commit crime according to Police Disparity Reports - that their overall "proportion" of crime is just about correct for their population!]
And then of course, he has to turn around and make that very same accusation of apathy - without any proof what-so-ever - about the people of Ferguson.
Writing that Brown's "community of submissives would be silent" if the victim had been white, Mercer added that "black, brown and white, we are all in this together," a realization she said President Barak Obama and the Reverend Al Sharpton have failed to acknowledge.
If this had previously happened to a White Guy in Ferguson, where he was beaten to a pulp by police while already restrained in custody, then charged with "property damage" for getting the Officers Uniforms Bloody....
http://www.thedailybeast.com/...
After Police had already fired 20 shots into a car full unarmed white people killing them without any charges being filed, and then a White Guy walking home was stopped for no good reason and shot down while his hands were in the air in surrender... Yeah, I think people in Ferguson would be more than a little upset. Sometimes it's not about Black vs White, it's about Repetition.
Also I seem to recall when two people from the Bundy Ranch went out and actually killed police officers - people who looked like this...
Not to many people from the Bundy Band protested their actions.
And also, somehow, this is all Obama and Al Sharpton's fault.
"Like two pimps in a pod, Sharpton and Obama have collaborated to keep racial grievance going," Mercer wrote.
Pimps in a Pod? Pimps? Ya mean like this?
Why on earth might any possibly think some "ordinary Americans" might happen to be slightly
Racist just because from one side of their mouth they happen to repeatedly use Racially Charged and Insulting Stereotypes to describe the President of the United States - who had nothing personally to do with the Michael Brown shooting - while proclaiming their "innocence" from the other side of the mouths?
Yeah, I guess it's just a dumb unlucky coincidence. Or not.
