Clear your calendars folks:

Bill Clinton will headline a Scottsdale fundraiser Tuesday for Fred DuVal, the Democratic candidate for governor and a former White House staffer under Clinton.
It was widely expected that the former president would help raise money for DuVal, who was the White House liaison to states on implementing Clinton's welfare reform law. He also worked at the U.S. State Department and was a staffer on the 1996 Clinton-Gore re-election campaign.
The fundraiser Tuesday will be at a private venue near the Scottsdale Air Park, with more than 100 people expected to attend, according to DuVal spokesman Geoff Vetter. The maximum donation under Arizona law is $2,000 per person.
Clinton's star power is unmatched in American politics. A recent poll showed he was the most popular current or former politician and the only one with positive approval ratings. President Obama's low approval ratings have made him persona non grata at Democratic campaign events.
Back in 2012, it was Clinton who led a raucous Democratic Party rally before thousands in Tempe for U.S. Senate candidate Richard Carmona. Carmona would lose the election to Republican Jeff Flake. - AZ Central, 9/13/14
This is a closer than expected race and I'll have more on it soon. DuVal will need all the help he can get to take down Doug Ducey (R. AZ), one of the shadiest candidates running for office this year:

Back the wrong candidate in last month's Republican gubernatorial primary?
Not a problem. Doug Ducey has a way that you can make amends. The Republican nominee is inviting you to tuck a few thousand bucks into his pocket.
This evening, Ducey is holding a fundraiser in Paradise Valley. Subject line on the e-mail invitation: "Will you join Jordan and Jason Rose Next Week w/ Future Governor Ducey?"
It'll cost you a minimum of $500 per person to attend the 90-minute soiree, though the invitation suggests a donation of $2,000 toward the fall campaign. But it also notes that you can offer up $4,000 per person if you haven't previously contributed to his campaign.
"Unless specified otherwise by the donor, Ducey 2014 will allocate the first $2,000 of a contribution to the general election and any additional contribution to primary debt retirement," the invitation says.
So who, might you ask, does the Ducey campaign owe?
I think you can guess.
According to campaign-finance reports, more than $3 million of the $4.3 million spent in Ducey's primary campaign was money that Ducey loaned his campaign.
Now he's hoping to get some of that $3 million back – from people who I suspect might be quite happy to put money into the pocket of the man who may be our next governor.
It's all perfectly legal – a perfectly ridiculous law that seems to invite mischief. If you want to self-fund your campaign to the tune of $3 million to get yourself elected governor, you certainly can. - AZ Central, 9/9/14
