800,000 is the number of people who have already signed the Meat Free Monday petition which will be presented at the UN Climate Summit meeting in NYC tomorrow (9/23) by Honorable Greg Barker MP, UK. You have one more day to join us by signing the Meat Free Monday pledge here!
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) estimates that livestock production is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, although other groups believe the figure is much higher.
The dangerously massive
resource depletion and degradation of livestock production makes it an issue that must be targeted in restoring our planet to a safe and healthy home for our species.
Pass the link along to your family and groups. The tide is turning regarding understanding of our own contributions to the climate crisis. Not only do we have the power to march to demand systemic change to our Earth killing policies, but we don't have to wait for policies to change to make the necessary changes in our own lives. We don't all need to wait for government to "make us do it". The sooner we get started the less damage to our planet.
