November is wide open. Republicans could win big...but they are messing up every step of the way. If the Democrats were more together, THEY could win big.
As it is, it is wide open. We sit on a knife edge.
We know what is at stake. More than a quarter of a million of us marched last Sunday here in NYC to illustrate the point. Fast food workers are striking over and over again to illustrate the point. We KNOW what is at stake.
Wide open election...a lot at stake. What are we going to do about it?
I am focusing on a LOT of races, both locally, here in NY State, but also nationally. Below are the races I MOST want to win. Can you help me fight these fights?
Staci Appel

This might be our most important race to take from the Republicans. It is a seat that has been held by the Greedy Oil Party for some time, but it is now, finally a toss up. Poll after poll shows it a toss up. THIS is our biggest chance of winning.
Having roots in Iowa (my father is from there) I would love to see this seat get flipped to blue. Staci Appel is a good candidate. Iowa is also a key state in the race to keep the Senate, so helping in this Congressional race can help our ground game in keeping the Senate. We need to put up a HUGE fight in Iowa and THIS district is the one we seriously need to win.
I should note, winning THIS race would mean it would be the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY that Iowa elected a woman to a federal office. Can you believe that???

This is a key pick up opportunity in a key swing district in a key swing state. This race is an epicenter of American politics. This race is a dead heat and one of our best chances to flip a seat. Colorado also has close races for Senate and for Governor this year, so pushing hard in this Congressional seat helps statewide candidates as well. This seat was formerly held by Tom Tancredo and would be particularly sweet to flip.
I also love our candidate here because he is a teacher...I always love electing teachers and scientists to office!

An absolutely key Senate seat we need to defend.
The very first bill Kay Hagan co-sponsored in the U.S. Senate was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. You can see why the Greedy Oil Party is so eager to defeat her! The Koch brothers are POURING money into this race, yet it remains a solid tossup week after week. This is one of the key races this year.

One of this year's key tossup Senate races is in Alaska. This USED to be safe Repub territory but Mark Begich beat them and they are pissed. The Greedy Oil Party is so desperate to win this one that they put money and effort into a fraudulent website trying to fool Begich supporters into donating to the Repubs.
Senator Mark Begich is well worth supporting. He supports overturning Citizen's United, voted for the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and defends Social Security and Medicare.
Senator Begich has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Human Rights Campaign, National Weather Service Employees Organization, and AFL-CIO.

This is the longest shot on this list, but the Repub incumbent, Steve King, is so bad and so racist, he may yet mess up his own re-election chances. This is perpetually a close race and though it usually falls to the Repubs, making this competitive will help with statewide Dem races.
