The senate race in Iowa is turning into an unexpected debacle for the Democrats. Bruce Braley should get the Martha Coakley award for running the worst senate race.
Instead of allowing the contest to focus on one or two of his verbal gaffes, Braley has allowed Republican Joni Ernst to slip under the publics's radar. The latest poll from the "Des Moines Iowa Register" has Ernst up by six points. Joni Ernst should be the issue just as Sharon Engle and Christine O'Donnell were the issues in their races.
If elected, Joni Ernst will make Ted Cruz look like a moderate. She opposes the farm bill and renewable fuel standards. She wants to privatize Social Security, change Medicare into a voucher system, and abolish the minimum wage.
What can be done?
The Democrats should bring in a pro who has managed successful campaigns and let him or her advise the Braley campaign. Drastic steps should be taken to change a drastic situation.
