Latest diary: Silicon Valley Kossack’s Day of Action with the Mike Honda campaign 10/11
On the day the Silicon Valley Kossacks gathered for our first official meet-up, Rep. Mike Honda and his staff was busy shooting footage for his first television ad. The ad titled, “United”, starts with scenes of Japanese’s Internment camps, a childhood memory that shaped the person he has become.
“I was told that I didn’t belong. Seen not for my potential, but for my differences. We need to be the change we desire, that’s how we move forward.”
~ Rep. Mike Honda (CA-17)
“This ad reflects a central theme of Congressman Honda’s re-election campaign, emphasizing his record of delivering for his constituents, including $900M in Federal funding for the BART extension to San Jose, which is creating 13,000 jobs,” said Campaign Manager Doug Greven. “Ro Khanna had a free pass on the air during the Primary Election, but we are planning to have ads on television from now until Election Day.”
Today’s advertisement is 30 seconds long, and in addition to touching on Congressman Honda’s work on the BART extension to San Jose, also highlights $5 million in funding for education, and over $1.3 billion in total federal funding he has delivered for his constituents since his election in 2000. Rep. Honda is a Senior Member of the Appropriations Committee.
A bonus Internet ad from last spring, “Our Voice.”
Curious what Ro Khanna thought of Honda before deciding to challenge him…
