A group for Anglican/Episcopalian Kossacks to discuss developments in the worldwide Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Church in the United States, the Church of England and the Anglican Church of Canada as well as issues related to social justice and church polity. Open to all, regardless of religious affiliation.
The group, Anglican Kossacks, was formed February 15, 2011. It seemed a natural fit at the time, as a substantial number of Anglicans and Episcopalians take part here. That activity reflects a long-standing commitment to public action and to respecting the dignity of every individual.
A significant event happened a week ago when the founder of Anglican Kossacks was banned, for reasons that do not relate to the group. A couple of years earlier, I had been made an admin for the group, so the group can continue if it still meets the needs of its members.
The purpose of this diary is three-fold:
- To let the present members of the group know that the group continues
- To let others who might be interested to know about the group, and invite them to join
- To invite present group members who might be interested in becoming editors to drop me a kosmail. This would be especially helpful because I cannot see all the queued diaries as promptly as would be useful, and because I often take advent and lent off from Daily Kos, and can't republish anything during those times.
Our diaries have been diverse and we hope to continue that. In addition to diaries from members, we often republish diaries that we think align with the purpose of the group.

I warmly request commenters to focus comments on the group and on other Anglican or Episcopalian topics. The founder of the group is not able to participate, and I hope that people will not bring him into the discussion either for good or for ill. No human being is perfect, but even imperfect humans can build good institutions, and Anglican Kossacks can continue to contribute to Daily Kos overall.
