In his lead-in to the current report on the Senate races, little Luke horribly mis-states the situation:
On MSNBC, while subbing for Alex Wagner, Luke starts by laying out the current situation: Dems 53, Dem-aligned Inds 2, Reps 45. So Republicans need to pick up 6 seats to take control. He then points out that there are three presumed pickups for the Republicans (marked red on the map), WV, MT and SD. OK, so far.
Next, he says, 'So Republicans need to pick up just 3 of these 11 close races.' Wow, that looks tough for our side. We have to win 9 out of 11? I didn't realize it was that tough. Wait, 11 states? Oh, now I see. The close races include Kentucky, Kansas, and Georgia, all held by Republicans. As to whether they are all truly close races, that is a fair debate. But Republicans don't need to win 3 out of 11. They need to win 6. Who needs accurate facts? Perhaps Luke is trying to follow Chuck Todd's path...
