Just a reminder that the 114th Congress gets started today and here's its composition: 80 percent male, 80 percent white, and 92 percent Christian.
The Washington Post notes that it's "one of the most diverse in American history, comprised of nearly 20 percent women and just over 17 percent of which is non-white."
Which means, of course, that four out of five members of Congress are white and four out of five are men.
For context, women account for more than half the population, and people of color comprise
about 37 percent of the U.S.
Let's just say there's a ways to go.
